ABOUT

FERNS

Across many cultures and throughout generations, the fern has served as a symbol of new life, new beginnings, and hope for the future. It has been used to represent humility, sincerity, family, and eternal youth.

Ferns also represent endurance and resourcefulness, ideal for any new journey that is about to happen in your life.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping teens and adults work through life transitions, relationship challenges, and trauma while providing a safe space to overcome anxiety, stress, and social expectations.

I began my career working in K-12 education, but after experiencing a major trauma in my own life I pivoted to therapy. I wanted to use my own therapeutic journey to healing to help others who are struggling. I have over two decades of experience working with children and teens as an advocate, volunteer, and teacher. Prior to beginning my private practice, I spent two years working in community mental health and providing wraparound intensive counseling services to children, teens, and their families. As a mom, I also love working with new mothers no matter where they are in the journey on the unique challenges, experiences, and joys that come with motherhood.

In my practice I work with both adults and teens ages 13 and up, and I particularly enjoy working with teen girls and young women on issues such as self-esteem and body image, school and familial struggles, trauma, and anxiety. I work best with clients who are motivated, open, and engaged in the therapeutic process. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), however I utilize many different therapeutic approaches in order to find what works best for each individual client so that they feel validated and heard.

The connections I build with my clients play a big part in the success of therapy, and I value the bravery it takes for a client to reach out for help. I am happy to provide a free 15-minute phone consultation to assess fit and answer any questions you may have.
